Frankie round-up
I like this take from Corey Spring at Livin’ in Cowtown:
Coleman also continued to play the “it was all alcohol’s fault” line she has been toting since resigning her position in June.
Toting like a fox! (Er, yeah!) Here’s Matt Naugle:
I suppose the Coleman campaign is playing this perfectly- As they turn Frankie, a criminal , into a victim and they give the MSM something other to talk about than Democrat corruption. But I don’t buy it, and I think the people of Columbus can see through this BS. Today, Frankie Coleman got yet ANOTHER pass for ANOTHER pile of laws she has broken- And justice has not been served.
I’m also of the “they’re just playing the alcoholic card” on this one. Here’s Buckeye State Blog:
This story is over. Mrs. Coleman received five years probation, $1,000 in fines, and 100 hours of community service. It was a fitting sentence considering the circumstances, especially Mrs. Coleman’s commitment to treating her alcohol addiction.
The right wing smear machine will say some nasty things in the next few days, but this story is done. Despite their best efforts, the vast majority of Columbus will quickly move beyond it.
Is that a prediction or a command? The vast majority of blogs solemnly reprinted the “Coleman Family Statement“, and I guess I’m no different:
We ask the public and media to respect our family’s privacy so that the recovery process can continue.”
In other words, shut up about it already!

When the story is bad about a Democrat, it is always over when they say. For Republicans, they can drag it on as long as they want.
