New DHL facility

DHL opened a new facility in Reynoldsburg today:

The Plantation, Fla.,-based logistics company said Monday it has opened a $2.1 million service center at 7001 Americana Parkway in Reynoldsburg. The 54,000-square-foot facility, one of 11 DHL runs in the state, combines the operations of two shipping centers that were closed, including a 20,000-square-foot service center near Port Columbus International Airport.

Packages and parcels will be routed directly to the company’s biggest air and ground hub in Wilmington, about 70 miles southwest of Reynoldsburg.

DHL is a German competitor to FedEx and UPS.

Bob Evans closures

Business First has reported that Bob Evans will be closing 11 restaurants, including two in the Columbus area:

The company shuttered restaurants at 1611 Polaris Parkway and 2475 Brice Road, as well as eateries in Florida, Kansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, the Carolinas and Virginia.

And here I thought those places were indestructible. You know, like cockroaches and Twinkies.
